Established by the Jains, Mehtas, and Munjals, Ind-Swift began as a pharmaceutical company in Chandigarh. It grew into North India’s second-largest drug manufacturer with a presence in 45 countries.

1995

Incorporation with PSIDC

Ind-Swift was formally incorporated in collaboration with the Punjab State Industrial Development Corporation (PSIDC).

1997

IPO Launch

Successfully raised ₹75 million through its Initial Public Offering (IPO), marking a major financial milestone.

First Manufacturing Plant

Commenced production at its first manufacturing facility in Derabassi, Punjab.

2004

Global Expansion and Innovation

Launched Nitazoxanide in Asia for the first time, declared maiden dividend, and established a subsidiary in the USA.

Second Plant Operational

Started production at its second plant located in Jammu.

R&D and Global Collaborations

Raised US $10 million via GDR, started an R&D Centre in Mohali, began a JV in Iran, and received TGA approval for Clarithromycin.

Acquired Ind-Swift Ltd. and amalgamated its Ethical and Generic divisions into Ind-Swift Laboratories Ltd.

From 2004 to 2024, Ind-Swift Laboratories Ltd. built a strong and respected presence in the field of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs). With a solid foundation of scientific expertise, strict quality standards, and efficient manufacturing, our API division became a trusted partner across the globe.

Over the years, our APIs played a vital role in supporting key therapeutic areas such as anti-infectives, cardiovascular, central nervous system, and gastrointestinal care—meeting healthcare needs in both regulated and emerging markets. In 2024, as part of a strategic business transformation, we successfully transferred our API and CRAMS operations to Synthimed Pvt. Ltd. This step allowed Ind-Swift to focus more sharply on Generic Formulations, Ethical Pharma, and strengthening our Export business, while giving the API operations the opportunity to grow and evolve under specialized leadership.

While our direct involvement in APIs has come to an end, its legacy remains a proud chapter in our story—continuing to inspire our values of innovation, integrity, and commitment to global health.
