Varun Chhabra

Varun Chhabra – Sr. Vice President | International Marketing

Varun Chhabra has over 25 years of experience in international marketing and pharmaceutical business development. As the Senior Vice President of International Marketing at Ind-Swift Laboratories Ltd., he leads and manages marketing teams, country managers, and regional heads across five continents to drive global growth.

Varun joined Ind-Swift in 1997 during the inception of the Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) Division. He played a key role in expanding the company from a domestic business to a global exporter with a presence in more than 80 countries.

Some of his key achievements in international marketing include:

  • Establishing and managing Ind-Swift’s European headquarters in the UK as General Manager.

  • Leading the expansion of business across Europe, Türkiye, and CIS regions.

  • Spearheading the setup of a Joint Venture API plant in Iran, one of the first in the region.

  • Representing Ind-Swift at major international pharmaceutical forums for over 20 years.

As a former Member of the Executive Board, Varun contributed to strategic decision-making and operational efficiency.

In 2020, he transitioned to lead the Finished Dosage business, where his expertise in international marketing helped grow the company’s footprint through own branding, out-licensing, contract manufacturing, marketing collaborations, and portfolio management.

Under Varun’s leadership, Ind-Swift has opened new technical and marketing offices and expanded subsidiaries across Africa, CIS, and emerging markets, further strengthening its global presence in international marketing.

Varun holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) from Panjab University and an MBA from FORE School of Management, New Delhi.
